The Stories People Tell: Part 1

For awhile now, I’ve started to enjoy watching people and wondering about their lives. I’ve always been a fairly nosy person, so it comes naturally. The first thing I notice is their face, their expression, and their emotions.  I enjoy scrutinizing their clothing, wondering where they bought their gemstone earrings or their shoes. I look at their hand to see whether or not they’re married. I find myself wondering about their families soon after, whether or not they have children, where they grew up, what their job is. In order to answer my questions, I make up stories about the people I notice.  Sometimes these people have very sad lives, and other times they’re quite successful. It all depends on how I perceive the person.

Some people say that it’s disturbing that I enjoy people watching, and study passer-bys so intensely. But I feel like it occupies me, and fills my mind with creative thoughts.  I love to speculate, my mind wandering. Soon enough, I find myself engulfed in my own stories. But it’s something I enjoy doing and sometimes the most ordinary people can inspire me.

So yeah that's the intro, do you guys want to read more? Tell meee! I know it's not that great, but still.

ALSO: I got my hair dyed! It's like red and copper and I luuurrrrve it so much!

ok that's all I'll maybe do a proper outfit post this weekend.
TELL ME WHETHER YOU WANNA READ MORE PLEASE! I LOVE FEEDBACK!

I am A Vampire and I have lost my Fangs again

Hello people who read my blog. I apologise for my frequent absences. I have been very busy with school and whatnot. It was my birthday ( which I share with AMY POEHLER from Parks and Rec) last Sunday and I went shopping with my mummy dearest and two friends. Then on Wednesday I left for a four day bike trip for grade tens elevens and twelves with my school. We stayed in tents for three chilly nights. We had all kinds of weather. It rained, hailed and even snowed. It was fun though. I think I'll probably go next year as well. Anyways, I am here sitting in my living room with my parents because it is my daddykins birthday today and we are having chicken enchiladas soon. Here are some of the presents I got last week: (sorry some of them are the wrong way, I have no idea why.)
A Ukulele! It's so much fun!

A Simon & Garfunkel tape

Just Kids by Patti Smith

The complete Weetzie Bat series

A thingy with pictures of the Beatles and stories and stuff.

It's a funny little quote!

Season 3 of Parks and Rec, Marie Antoinette and the Royal Tenenbaums

I just love all of their expressions!
YAY IT IS SO AWESOME AND COOL

All of the stickers are so neat and beautiful and I don't really want to use any of them because they are too awesome.
And I've been making some collages too:

And My Mummy darling found a Dali calendar at her school, along with a cool poster that was a Rookie background one day:

And I FINALLY hung this poster from the Walker in Minneapolis:

And last but not least, what I wore today:

jacket and skirt-hand me downs  tights- F21  top and docs- thrifted

And I brushed my hair and put a barrette in it and felt like Margot Tenenbaum.

David Bowie and some other stuff

Hi! Remember me? Maren? I used to blog here alot. But alas, it was summer. I was busy swimming and travelling and doing things at camp. Yes, I returned from art camp last week and it was SO much fun! I made a friend (YAY!) and I painted David Bowie! We did some other stuff, but painting was my favourite.

We had to choose a person who we admired, like a celebrity or a singer. It was funny because someone would come over to me and say, "who's that?" I would say, "David Bowie." to which the response was, "who's that?". Then I would go and see what other people were doing, and say "who's that?" "oh it's (insert name of pop star here)" and then I'd say, "who's that?" . Hee heeee. Yeah, I had a REALLY good time! It was so fun!

And then this week I am helping my mom organize an art room at the school she teaches at! Her boss told me that anything I wanted, I could have! So naturally I brought a huge box home.

flowers, disco ball and lace

glitter spray, glitter glue and mod podge

fabric

beads and rhinestones!
In other news, I chopped more than half of my hair off! (Actually, my hairdresser did, not me.)

And I'm getting total kind of 90's grunge vibes here, don't you agree? ( the photo is all grainy, i don't know why.)

Top- hand me down skirt-thrifted  boots-brash

And school starts on Thursday. Bye bye summer. :(

The only thing you keep changing is your name

hee hee. did anyone get my ARCADE FIRE reference there??? hmmm? OK then. Anyways, let's just say that I'm really overtired because I had a math test and a first aid exam today and I have piles of math homework due tomorrow and I have to finish 2 yearbook pages by Friday which is really hard because the website won't upload pictures and when it does it takes 20 minutes. Why am I on yearbook? I really don't know. gahbooeekovertired. I finally got my hair done!!!! :) See:

I also finished my home ec project early, so my teacher let me make these from this rookie tutorial!

Yay. I also made a little nature corner on my desk, replacing my collection of old stuff.

Hee hee. Can you see Frida in the left corner? :)

A pin from my cousin's band, Oh My Darling.

Goodbye, see ya latah.

Collages

So I FINALLY scanned in some of my collages, after a few days of procrastination. One was too big to scan in, and unfortunately it was my best one. boo-hoo.

Yes, she is saying her bowtie is a camera.

How was your weekend? It's almost over. MEH. I've biked, sat in my room, watched CSI:NY and failed at doing Tavi's beehive. My hair is wayyy to thick and curly, and I can't have bangs or else they'll split in the center. Fortunately, my mother was a child of the 60's and she tried to do a french roll type thing on the back of my head. It kind of reminds me of the women in The Help. Anyways, I shall keep you informed of my hair escapade and show you when I succeed. I got really cute earrings yesterday! They are silver bows with yellow gems in them with a tiny yellow heart hanging off the center! They are very spring like. I have also been making things. I made a pair of in an aeroplane over the sea earrings (header pic) and a cool vintage-y black necklace. I'll show you later. Next time. I promise, children. (ya I know I'm weeiiird.)

I want blue hair

HI happy Easter! I really want blue hair. My hairdresser says it'll ruin my hair and turn it an ugly copper colour. :( Fortunately, she can get extensions :) that are blue! YAY! I'm happy now. I still wish I could have done my WHOLE head, but I'm still happy about the extensions! I'm getting them later this month! Anyways, this is what I wore yesterday. Right now I'm in yoga pants and a sweater. I also am really hyper from eating chocolate ducks and eggs and bunnies! YAAAAAAAAAAAA! Sorry. It's the candy speaking. ON with the outfits.

Top-Thrifted  Romper-Forever 21 Tights- NO IDEA Booties-  Aldo
I edited this photo on pic monkey. It's exactly like picnik! I love this picture. It makes me feel happy, even though it's pooky and windy and gray outside. It shows a little more of my room in this one.

Da booties

I love the pattern on this Romper!

I was going to do a room tour today, but all my sheets are in the wash and my bed is rather boring and white looking now. Sometime this week, I promise. Have a good rest of  Easter holidays!!!!
